  • Pharmacodynamics:

    The drug has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, wound-healing and immunomodulating effect. Has bactericidal activity against Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes) and Gram-negative (E. coli, Ps. aeruginosa) flora, moderately expressed antifungal activity.

    Multidirectional action is caused by the influence of the ointment on oxidation-reduction processes, activation of low-molecular components of the antioxidant system of the cell at the site of the rubbing of the preparation and action on the skin receptors. Under the influence of ointment the phagocytic index increases, the phagocytic number that characterizes the number of phagocytic cells per leukocyte increases. The drug enhances the functional activity of neutrophilic leukocytes of human blood and increases the production of tumor necrosis factor.

    Indications:

    - Clean and infected burns I-II-IIIA degree;

    - trophic ulcers with moderate exudation;

    - long-term non-healing postoperative wounds with a small amount of discharge;

    - long-term non-healing post-traumatic wounds without a purulent process;

    - decubitus with a small amount of wound detachable, atopic dermatitis;

    - ekzema;

    ichthyosis;

    - keratoderma;

    - cracks in the palms, plantar surface of the feet;

    - herpes in the initial erythematous stage.

    Contraindications:

    Individual intolerance to the components of the ointment.

    Pregnancy and lactation:Contraindications are not established.
    Dosing and Administration:

    Locally. Mechanically remove the wound detritus with the subsequent washing of the wound surface, after which sterile gauze wipes with "Biopin 5%" ointment are applied. Change of dressings is carried out daily or every other day, depending on the degree of impregnation of napkins with a wound discharge.

    The dose of the drug depends on the size of the wound surface and on average ranges from 2 to 5 grams per wound area of ​​5x5 cm. In cases of extensive wounds and good individual tolerance, it is permissible to use large amounts of ointment, but not more than 100 g.

    After removing the dressing, a small amount of wax remains on the skin around the wound,which is a kind of protective shaft of healthy skin areas from the damaging effect of wound detachable, which is especially important in the treatment of intestinal fistula, extensive trophic ulcers and post-traumatic wounds.

    Treatment is continued until the symptoms of inflammation and (or) epithelization of the wound permanently disappear.

    Side effects:

    With increased individual sensitivity to the components of the ointment, manifestations of local irritating action (redness, burning, itching) that occur after the drug is withdrawn are possible.

    In case of development of a pronounced local reaction, the use of the ointment is stopped and the affected surface is treated with a 40% solution of ethyl alcohol, or with warm water and soap.

    Interaction:

    Undesirable effects with simultaneous use of the drug with other drugs have not been identified.

    Specific antibiotic therapy and physiotherapy improve the effectiveness of the ointment.
