  • Pharmacodynamics:

    Desitin® helps prevent the appearance of a diaper rash, protects against the action of urine and other irritating substances and softens irritated skin. Symptomatic and protective effect of the drug is determined by zinc oxide, and in combination with auxiliary substances create a physical barrier, forming a protective coating on the skin or mucous membranes, which reduces the effect of irritants on the affected area and prevents the appearance of a rash. Desitin® gives a noticeable effect in diaper rash for 24 hours.

    Desitin® provides a lasting protective effect from moisture, especially at night, when a child can be in wet diapers for a long time. Desitin® has a weak astringent effect,which causes its use as an anti-inflammatory and protective agent with small burns, cuts, scratches, as well as with eczema and light skin lesions.

    Indications:

    Treatment and prevention of diaper rash. The drug is also used as a first aid for light skin lesions (small burns, cuts, scratches and sunburn).

    Contraindications:

    Increased individual sensitivity to any component of the drug.

    Diaper rash in children from infancy

    Treatment: Before use, wash and dry the affected area. When the first signs of redness, intertrigo or slight irritation of the skin appear, the ointment is applied 3 or more times a day, as needed, usually with any change of diapers (diapers).

    Prevention: apply to the skin covered with a diaper (diaper), before the onset of signs of irritation, especially at bedtime, when the child can be in wet diapers for a long time.

    Cuts; small burns, scratches and sunburn
