Composition:

Description:Transparent colorless or slightly yellowish liquid.
Pharmacotherapeutic group:Antimicrobial agent - sulfonamide.
Pharmacodynamics:Sulfatsil sodium - sulfanilamidnye antimicrobial broad-spectrum drugs. Has a bacteriostatic effect. The mechanism of action is associated with a competitive antagonism with para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) and inhibition digidropteroatsintetazy, which disrupts the synthesis of tetrahydrofolic acid required for the synthesis of purines and pyrimidines. It is active against gram-positive and gram-negative cocci, Escherichia colli, Shigella spp., Vibrio cholerae, Clostridium perfringens, Bacillus anthracis, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Yersinia pestis, Chlamydia spp., Actinomyces israelii, Toxoplasma gondii.
Pharmacokinetics:Penetrates the tissues and fluid eyes. Absorbed into the systemic bloodstream through an inflamed conjunctiva. When applied topically, sulfacetamide maximum concentration in the cornea (about 3 mg / ml), moisture anterior chamber (about 0.5 mg / ml) and iris (about 0.1 mg / ml) is achieved within the first 30 minutes after application. Indications:
As part of complex therapy in children and adults with conjunctivitis, blepharitis, with purulent ulcer of the cornea in adults, gonorrhea and chlamydial diseases of the eyes in adults.

Dosing and Administration:
Adults in the complex therapy: with conjunctivitis, blepharitis, purulent ulcer of the cornea, gonorrheal and chlamydial eye diseases, the drug is instilled in the affected eye 1-2 drops 4-6 times a day. The course of treatment is 7-10 days.

Children in the complex therapy: with conjunctivitis, blepharitis - instill 1 drop into the affected eye 4-5 times a day. The course of treatment is 7-10 days.

For the prevention of blennery, newborns are instilled 1 drop into each eye 3 times at intervals of 10 minutes.

Side effects:With the use of the drug, short-term burning, blurring of vision, lacrimation, redness of the eyes, itching, itching in the eyes, local allergic reactions are possible.
Overdose:
Symptoms: carvings, burning in the eye, red eyes, eyelid edema, lacrimation.
Treatment: withdrawal of the drug, symptomatic treatment.
Interaction:
Co-administration with procaine and tetracaine reduces the bacteriostatic effect of sulvfacetamide. Incompatible with the salts of silver.
Special instructions:
In patients with increased individual sensitivity to furosemide, thiazide diuretics, sulfonylureas or carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, hypersensitivity to sulfacetamide may occur.
