The outpatient is called pneumonia, which debuted outside the hospital environment or in the first 48 hours of hospitalization.This is one of the most common diseases and the most important cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, especially among the elderly. The main pathogens of community-acquired pneumonia are Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae and Moraxella catarrhalis.
Below is an algorithm for empirical antibiotic therapy of this disease.
Note:* Increased risk of refractory flora is noted in the following patient groups:
- with a long history of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
- often taking antibiotics
- immunocompromised
and so on.
