A.02.A.D.05   Almasilat (Simaldrat)

Pharmacodynamics:

Almasilat has enveloping, adsorbing and antacid properties. The mechanism of action is to neutralize the hydrochloric acid of the stomach, thereby the drug protects the mucous membrane of the stomach and duodenum from aggressive factors. It also does not cause secondary hypersecretion.

Pharmacokinetics:Almasilate is not absorbed into the blood, the effect is only local. Does not have a resorptive effect on the body. The onset of the effect manifests itself after 30 minutes, the duration of the action is 2-4 hours.

Indications:
  • Acute gastritis
  • Chronic gastritis with increased or normal secretion in the exacerbation phase
  • Peptic ulcer of the stomach or duodenum in the acute phase
  • Acute duodenitis
  • Hernia of the esophageal opening of the diaphragm
  • Reflux-esophagitis
  • Pain in the epigastrium after receiving provoking food substances (alcohol, coffee, drugs, irritating the gastric mucosa)
  • Heartburn, eructation
  • Hyperphosphatemia

XI.K20-K31.K29.6   Other gastritis

XI.K20-K31.K29.5   Chronic gastritis, unspecified

XI.K20-K31.K29.2   Alcoholic gastritis

XI.K20-K31.K29   Gastritis and duodenitis

Contraindications:
  • Hypersensitivity to the drug components
  • Pregnancy (I term)
  • Lactation
  • Children's age (suspension - up to 1 month, tablets - up to 10 years)
  • Severe renal dysfunction

Pregnancy and lactation:

Contraindicated in the first trimester of pregnancy, during breastfeeding.

Dosing and Administration:

Suspension: 1 packet 3-6 times a day 1-2 hours after eating and before bedtime.

Pills: inside, chewing or rassasyvaya 1 tablet 3-6 times a day 1 hour after eating.

With discomfort in the stomach after errors in the diet take 1 tablet once.

Side effects:
  • Allergic reactions
  • Nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, changes in taste
  • Hypermagnesia, hyperaluminia, hypophosphatemia, hypocalcemia, hypercalciuria, osteoporosis, osteomalacia, encephalopathy, nephrocalcinosis (with prolonged use in high doses)
Overdose:Symptoms: development of hypermagnesia syndrome (face redness, thirst, arterial hypotension, hyporeflexia, respiratory depression, convulsions).
Treatment: symptomatic.
Interaction:

Almasilat slows the absorption of other drugs (tetracycline antibiotics, barbiturates, beta-blockers, H2-histamine receptor blockers, diflunisal, isoniazid, indomethacin, indirect anticoagulants, iron preparations, salicylates, phenytoin, chenodeoxycholic acid, chlorpromazine).

Anticholinergic drugs slow the emptying of the stomach, strengthening and slowing the action of Almasilate.

Special instructions:

In patients with chronic renal failure, continuous monitoring of the magnesium content in the blood is necessary. With a pronounced impaired renal function, prolonged use of Almasilate is contraindicated.

The toxicity of the drug increases with the simultaneous use of citrus juices (especially - with the use of grapefruit juice).

Between the intake of Almasilate and other drugs should maintain an interval of at least 2 hours.
