Pharmacodynamics:

The liquorice extract has an expectorant effect, primarily due to the presence of glycyrrhizin, which enhances the secretory function of the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract.

Extract of thermopsis has an expectorant effect, having a moderate irritant effect on the receptors of the gastric mucosa, reflexively increases the secretion of the bronchial glands. The alkaloids contained in the grass of the thermopsis (methylcytisine, pachycarpine, anagyrin, thermopsin, thermopsidin) exert a stimulating effect on the respiratory, and in high doses, on the vomiting centers.

Potassium bromide reduces the excitability of the central nervous system.

Ammonium chloride exerts an expectorant, diuretic effect.

Indications:

As part of a comprehensive therapy of inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, accompanied by a cough with hard-to-recover sputum (tracheitis, bronchitis, tracheobronchitis).

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum in the period of exacerbation, pregnancy, lactation, children under 3 years.

Carefully:

Alcoholism, epilepsy, liver disease, diseases and injuries the brain (due to the presence of ethanol in the drug), diabetes (due to the high sugar content of the drug).

Dosing and Administration:

The drug is used inside, after eating.

Children from 3 to 6 years - by 1/2 a teaspoonful 3 times a day.

Children from 6 to 12 years old - 1 teaspoonful 3 times a day.

To teenagers from 12 till 18 years - 1 dessert spoon 3 times a day.

Adults - 1 tablespoon 3 times a day.

The average course of treatment is 10-14 days. An increase in the duration and conduct of repeated courses of treatment is possible on the recommendation of a doctor.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions are possible.

Overdose:

With prolonged use in doses exceeding the recommended, nausea and vomiting are possible.

Interaction:

Amtersol should not be used concomitantly with drugs containing antitussive medicines, as this makes it difficult to cough up diluted sputum.
