  • Pharmacodynamics:

    Nicotinic acid and its salts have a local irritant effect, causing vasodilation. Penetrating into the skin, the fat-soluble propylnicotinate is split up to the formation of nicotinic acid, which causes the capillaries to expand and intensifies microcirculation, leading to local hyperthermia and blocking the afferent nerve end, to local anesthesia.

    Pharmacokinetics:With topical application, systemic absorption is low.
    Indications:

    To improve local microcirculation and anesthesia in myalgia, neuralgia and arthralgia non-inflammatory genesis and not requiring urgent surgical treatment.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug and to parabens.

    Children under 12 years.

    Violation of the integrity of the skin and inflammatory skin diseases.

    Pregnancy and lactation:The drug is not recommended for use during pregnancy and during breastfeeding.
    Dosing and Administration:

    Adults and children from the age of 12: apply to the skin of the affected area of ​​the body 2-4 times a day with a thin layer of calculation: a column of cream 0.5-1.0 cm long on a skin area 5-10 cm in diameter and gently rub. It is allowed to apply the drug on several sites.

    The course of treatment is not more than 10 days. Continuation of treatment is possible after consultation with a doctor.
    Side effects:

    Perhaps the development of allergic reactions (intense hyperemia, itching, rarely swelling of the skin, pustular eruptions).

    Overdose:

    When using a large amount of the drug on a vast surface of the skin, there may be a drop in blood pressure and a decrease in the heart rate. If the drug gets into the oral cavity, in addition to pronounced irritation of the mucous membrane, there may be a violation of breathing, cardiovascular failure with an increase in blood pressure.

    In these cases, it is necessary to remove the cream residues from the surface of the skin or oral cavity. In the case of a large amount of cream entering through the mouth into the gastrointestinal tract, gastric lavage and the use of salt laxatives are indicated.

    Treatment is symptomatic.

    Interaction:

    Simultaneous use of the drug with other locally irritating drugs or warming up physiotherapeutic procedures can cause severe skin irritation, especially when applying the drug to large areas of the body, as well as a significant reduction in blood pressure (down to syncope), due to an additional vasodilating effect.

    Special instructions:

    Redness at the site of application of the cream is due to the action of the active substance and does not apply to side effects.

    People with sensitive skin should not take a hot shower or bath before and after using the drug.

    After applying the product, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.

    Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, damaged skin.

    Do not apply medication to wounds. Do not apply to the area of ​​inflamed joints.

    If the cream gets into the eyes, immediately wash them thoroughly with plenty of warm water.
