Fruits are apple-shaped, from spherical to ellipsoidal; hard, wrinkled, 7-10 mm long, 6-9 mm wide, with a ring rim on top, formed by shriveled sepals.In flesh pulp there are 3-4 wooden stems, with irregular triangular, oval or laterally compressed shape. The surface of the ossicles is pitted or wrinkled or furrowed along the back. The color of the fruits is from dark red (hawthorn blood-red) to black or purple-black with a whitish coating of crystallized sugar (hawthorn five-wool).
The smell is absent. The taste of water extract is sweetish.
