Composition:Hawthorn fruit
Description:
Fruits are apple-shaped, from spherical to ellipsoidal; hard, wrinkled, 7-10 mm long, 6-9 mm wide, with a ring rim on top, formed by shriveled sepals.In flesh pulp there are 3-4 wooden stems, with irregular triangular, oval or laterally compressed shape. The surface of the ossicles is pitted or wrinkled or furrowed along the back. The color of the fruits is from dark red (hawthorn blood-red) to black or purple-black with a whitish coating of crystallized sugar (hawthorn five-wool).
The smell is absent. The taste of water extract is sweetish.
Pharmacotherapeutic group:Cardiotonic agent of plant origin.
Pharmacodynamics:Decoction of hawthorn fruit has cardiotonic, spasmolytic and moderate sedative effect, exhibits antihypertensive properties, normalizes blood coagulability.
Indications:Applied in complex therapy of functional disorders of cardiovascular activity (neurocircular dystonia, cardialgia).
Contraindications:Hypersensitivity to the drug, pregnancy (1 trimester), children under 12 years.
Pregnancy and lactation:Application in the lactation period is possible if the expected benefit for the mother exceeds the potential risk for the child. It is necessary to consult a doctor.
Dosing and Administration:About 15 g (1 tbsp.spoon) of the fruit is placed in enameled dishes, poured into 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water, covered with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath for 30 minutes, cooled at room temperature for 10 minutes, filtered, the remaining raw material squeezed. The volume of the resulting broth is brought to 200 ml with boiled water. Take inside 1 / 2- 2/3 cup 2-3 times a day for 30 minutes before eating.
The course of treatment is 20-30 days.
It is recommended to stir up the broth before use.

Side effects:Allergic reactions are possible. With prolonged use of the drug in large doses, drowsiness, lowering of blood pressure, bradycardia are possible.
Interaction:When combined with cardiac glycosides, the hypotensive effect intensifies; with beta-blockers - it is possible to increase the hypotensive effect.
Form release / dosage:Whole fruits of 50 g, 75 g (at a humidity of 14%)
Packaging:Fruits in a pack of cardboard with an internal paper bag and instructions for use.
Storage conditions:

In a dry place protected from light.

Ready to boil stored in a cool place for no more than 2 days.
