Description:

A mixture of pieces of thin stems, leaves and flowers.Pieces of stems are tetrahedral, thin (up to 0.5 mm), greenish or yellowish brown, sometimes with a purple hue. The leaves are green or greyish-green; short-petioled, lanceolate, elliptical or oblong-elliptical, entire, up to 15 mm long, glabrous or slightly pubescent with spiky-veining veins on the underside of the leaf, green or grayish-green, whole and in pieces of various shapes. The scent is fragrant. The taste of the water extract is bitterish-spicy.

    Infusion of herbs of thyme exposes an expectorant, antimicrobial effect.

    Indications:

    In the complex therapy of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract (tracheitis, bronchitis, bronchopneumonia); locally for rinsing with inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, stomatitis, gingivitis).

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the drug; when ingested: a violation of the liver and / or kidney function, gastritis with high acidity, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum,pregnancy and the period of breastfeeding, children's age (up to 12 years).

    Dosing and Administration:

    About 10 g (2 tablespoons) of thyme herbs are placed in enamel ware, pour 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and insist on a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cool for 45 minutes at room temperature, filter through a double layer gauze, the remaining raw material is squeezed.

    The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.

    Inside adults and children over 12 years of age are prescribed for 1 tablespoon 2-3 times a day before meals. The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks.
