Composition:

Rhizomes and roots of elecampane contain essential oil, sesquiterpene lactones, inulin, mucus, etc.

Description:

Pieces of rhizomes and roots of various shapes. Color grayish-brown, yellowish-white, yellowish-gray. The scent is fragrant. The taste of the water extract is spicy, bitter.

    • Pharmacodynamics:

    Decoction of rhizomes and roots of elecampane exerts an expectorant effect.

    Indications:

    Applied in adults and children over 12 years as an expectorant for diseases of the upper respiratory tract.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the drug, kidney disease, pregnancy, lactation, children under 12 years.

    Dosing and Administration:

    About 16 g (1 tablespoon) of crushed rhizomes and roots are placed in enameled dishes, pour 200 ml. (1 cup) of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and insist on a boiling water bath for 30 minutes, cool at room temperature for 10 minutes, filter, the remaining raw material is squeezed. The volume of the resulting broth is brought to 200 ml with boiled water.

    Take inside in a warm form 1 / 2-1 / 3 cup 2-3 times a day for 1 hour before meals. The course of treatment is 2 weeks.

    It is recommended to stir up the broth before use.

    Allergic reactions are possible; heartburn, increased pain in the abdomen.
