Composition:

100 g of syrup contain:

Active components:

Liquid extract of plantain 3 g

Liquid extract of thyme 15 g

Excipients: methyl-4-hydroxybenzoate, propyl-4-hydroxybenzoate, invert sugar solution (glucose, fructose, sucrose), purified water.

Description:Transparent liquid of dark brown color, sweet taste and fragrant smell.

  • Pharmacodynamics:The drug has an expectorant, anti-inflammatory effect.
    Indications:

    In the complex therapy of inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract, accompanied by a cough with hard-to-recover sputum (tracheitis, bronchitis, tracheobronchitis), as well as spastic cough.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

    The drug should be used with caution for people with diabetes and people on a diet with a low carbohydrate content.

    The drug should be administered with caution to children (because of the possible negative effects of ethanol).

    Due to the presence of ethanol, it is not recommended to prescribe the drug during pregnancy, during breastfeeding, with liver diseases, alcoholism, epilepsy, brain trauma.

    Dosing and Administration:

    In the absence of other prescriptions, the following dosage is recommended:

    Children aged 6 months to 1 year - 1 teaspoonful 1 time per day.

    To children of younger age - on 1 teaspoon 2 times a day.

    Children of school age - 1 tablespoon 2 times a day.

    Adults - 1-2 tablespoons 3-5 times a day.

    Syrup should be taken undiluted after eating.

    The duration of taking the drug is determined by the attending physician, depending on the severity of the disease. With mild forms of inflammation of the respiratory tract, it is 2 weeks; it is recommended to take the drug for 2-3 more days after the disappearance of the symptoms of the disease.

    If the patient does not improve after 2-3 weeks, consult your doctor.

    Side effects:

    Allergic reactions are possible (including because of the content of alkyl-4-hydroxybenzoates in the preparation).

    If side effects occur, the drug should be discontinued and consulted by your doctor.

    Interaction:

    Due to the content of ethanol, the drug helps to increase the effect of sedatives, hypnotics and other drugs that depress the central nervous system.

    Special instructions:

    The preparation contains 6.5% (v / v) ethanol.

    The total sugar content, in terms of sucrose, is 0.6 g / ml.

    1 teaspoonful (5 ml) corresponds to 3.0 g of sucrose, or 0.25 VE.

    1 tablespoon (10 ml) corresponds to 6.0 g of sucrose, or 0.5 VE.

    It is not recommended simultaneous administration of antitussive drugs.

    When there is a turbidity of the syrup or precipitation of the sediment, the drug should not be used.
