    Pharmacodynamics:

    Combined drug.

    Menthol is a local irritant, the effect of which is mainly due to reflex reactions associated with irritation of sensitive mucosal receptors. It has an easy local anesthetic ("distracting") effect, has weak antiseptic properties.

    Eucalyptus oil has a stimulating effect on the receptors of the mucous membranes and has an anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effect.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    Indications:
    • Inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract (tonsillitis, laryngitis, pharyngitis, tracheitis), cough.
    • Rhinitis (acute and chronic).

    Contraindications:

    For ointment: hypersensitivity, children's age (up to 3 years).

    For tablets and lozenges: hypersensitivity, scarcity deficiency/isomaltase, fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, children under 8 years old.

    Carefully:

    For tablets and lozenges: diabetes, pregnancy, lactation.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    Category of recommendations for FDA is not defined. Adequate and well-controlled studies on humans and animals have not been conducted. Pregnancy is not a contraindication for topical administration, however, the administration of lozenges and tablets with eucalyptus oil and racemtol during pregnancy should be agreed with the attending physician. Be careful in the first 4 months.

    During lactation, use with caution according to indications and under the supervision of a doctor.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Locally, intranasally. A small amount of ointment should be applied to the mucous membranes of the nasal passages 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment is 5-10 days.

    Sublingually. 1 tablet should be kept in the mouth until completely absorbed, not chewed. Adults - 3-4 tablets a day, children from 8 years - 1-2 tablets a day. The course of treatment is 5 days.

    Side effects:

    Allergic reactions are possible.

    Overdose:

    To date, no cases of overdose have been observed.

    Interaction:

    With the simultaneous use of drugs metabolized in the liver, it is possible to weaken the intensity or shorten the duration of the latter (eucalyptus oil, which is part of the drug, is an inducer of liver enzyme systems).

    Special instructions:

    Before use, it is important to check the individual sensitivity of the body to essential oils. If you do not experience discomfort when you smell the essential oil odor, there is no respiratory spasm, then this product can be used.

    Dissolve 1 drop of essential oil in 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil and apply the mixture to the wrist or inner elbow. If after 15-40 minutes the skin does not show redness, burning, itching and other signs of skin irritation are not felt, this essential oil can be used for external use. Test individually, avoid overdose.

    Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes, on damaged skin.
