Characteristic

The violet grass contains anthocyanins, carotenoids, ascorbic acid,flavonoids, saponins, tannins, polysaccharides, essential oil (containing methyl salicylate).
Description:A mixture of pieces of stems, leaves, flowers, fruits, seeds, passing through a sieve with holes of 7 mm. The color of pieces of leaves, stems, calyx, fruits - green, light green, yellowish green; seeds - yellow, light brown; fragments of corolla - blue, violet, light-violet, light yellow or yellowish-white. The smell is weak. The taste of the water extract is sweetish with a sensation of mucus.

  • Pharmacodynamics:Infusion of violet grass has expectorant, anti-inflammatory, moderate choleretic effect, as well as some diuretic action.
    Indications:In the complex therapy of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the respiratory system (including tracheitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, whooping cough).
    Contraindications:Hypersensitivity to the drug, gastritis and peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum during an exacerbation, cholelithiasis, pregnancy, the period of breastfeeding, children under 12 years.
    Dosing and Administration:About 8 g (2 tbsp.spoons) of the crushed raw material is placed in enameled dishes, poured into 200 ml (1 glass) of cooled boiled water, covered with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cooled at room temperature for 45 minutes, filtered, the remaining raw material is squeezed. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.

    Adults and children over 12 years inside in a warm form of 1 / 3-1 / 2 cup 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks. Conducting a second course is possible on the recommendation of a doctor.
    Side effects:Allergic reactions are possible.
    Overdose:Symptoms of an overdose: nausea, vomiting. Treatment is symptomatic.
    Interaction:The drug should not be used simultaneously with antitussive drugs, as this makes it difficult to cough up thinned phlegm.
    Special instructions:The use of the drug does not affect the performance of potentially hazardous activities requiring increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (transport management, work with moving mechanisms, dispatcher and operator work).
