C.05.B   Drugs used in varicose veins

Pharmacodynamics:

A combined herbal preparation contains a standardized extract of horse chestnut seeds and a liquid extract of the sweet clover grass.

Provides a venotonic effect, reduces the permeability of capillaries.

Chestnut horse seed extract contains glycoside derivatives - flavone glycosides, which have anti-inflammatory, venotonic, analgesic and antiplatelet effect; reduce the permeability of capillaries and veins, improve microcirculation.

The use of Herbion® Esculum leads to an increase in the capillaroprotective effect. Against the backdrop of the use of Herbion® Escus, permeability of capillaries decreases, inflammation decreases, filtration of low-molecular proteins, electrolytes and water into the intercellular space is prevented, metabolic processes in tissues are improved.

The drug removes a feeling of heaviness and pain in the legs, significantly reduces swelling of the legs, inflammatory skin manifestations.

Pharmacokinetics:

According to the preclinical data: after application, about 1% of escin is absorbed onto the skin, while the concentration in the skin is much higher - 50% applied dose. There is no data on the absorption of the extract of Grasshopper grass with topical application.

Indications:

- Violation of peripheral circulation and chronic venous insufficiency of various etiologies (varicose veins and postthrombophlebitic syndrome, pain and feeling of heaviness in the legs, swelling of the legs during pregnancy);

- Post-traumatic or postoperative edema of soft tissues.
Contraindications:

- Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;

- violation of the integrity of the skin (in the place of application): open wounds or deep cuts, trophic ulcers.

Carefully:Age to 18 years.
Pregnancy and lactation:

Pregnant and breastfeeding women can use Herbion® escus, because it acts locally and does not have systemic effects. Nevertheless, before using the gel, it is recommended to consult a doctor.

Dosing and Administration:

Outerly, apply to the skin in a thin layer, not rubbing, 3-4 times a day.

For the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency, it is possible to use compresses (it is recommended to apply in the morning under compression socks, bandages).

If necessary, a prolonged use of the Herbion® Escula up to 3 months is possible.

Side effects:

In very rare cases, allergic reactions: itching and redness of the skin. In this case, stop using the drug and consult a doctor.

Herbion® Esculus contains ethanol. Therefore, frequent application of the drug on the skin can cause irritation and dry skin.

Overdose:

There were no cases of drug overdose.

Interaction:

Interactions with other drugs are unknown.

It is not recommended to apply any other topical preparations together with the Herbion® escus preparation.

Special instructions:

Herbion® esculum is used only externally.

The drug should not be applied to open wounds or damaged skin.

Do not apply to mucous membranes. Avoid getting the gel in the eyes.

When trophic ulcers are not recommended to apply gel on the ulcer and its edges.

It is not recommended to use the drug in children on extensive skin surfaces and for a long time.

Thanks to the gel base, Herbion® Esculus is absorbed easily and quickly into the skin without leaving traces on the linen and clothes.
Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:

There are no reports on the influence of Herbion® Escus on the ability to drive and work with technical means.

For 40 grams of gel in an aluminum tube.

Each tube is placed at a pack of cardboard along with instructions for use.

Storage conditions:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C.

Keep out of the reach of children.

Shelf life:

2 years.

Do not use the drug after the expiration date.
