    Pharmacodynamics:

    Inhibits monoamine oxidase and gluconeogenesis. Selectively interacts with phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase, prevents loss of energy and promotes the reverse development of cachexia associated with tumor growth. Increases the content of tumor necrosis factor, reduces symptoms of intoxication. Has a sedative and psychostimulating effect - improves the mood, duration and quality of life of patients in the final stage of the disease.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    After oral administration, an empty stomach is absorbed up to 80% in the gastrointestinal tract. The maximum concentration in the blood plasma is reached after 2 hours.

    Therapeutic effect develops 2-3 weeks after the start of the procedure. Cumulates with prolonged admission. Metabolism in the liver.

    The half-life is 3 days. Elimination by the kidneys.

    Indications:

    It is used to treat inoperable disseminated forms of malignant tumors, metastases of lung cancer, stomach, breast, pancreas, neuroblastoma, lymphosarcoma, and lymphogranulomatosis.

    Contraindications:Individual intolerance, children under 18 years.

    Carefully:Renal and hepatic insufficiency, hypersensitivity.

    Pregnancy and lactation:Recommendations for FDA - category is not defined. Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Inside, 1-2 hours before meals, 60 mg per day at one time for 3 days. Then, 120 mg per day for two meals until the 7th day inclusive. From the 8th day - 60 mg 3 times a day. The course dose is 6 g. Conducting a second course is permissible after 2 weeks.

    The highest daily dose: 180 mg.

    The highest single dose: 60 mg.

    Side effects:

    Central and peripheral nervous system: dizziness, agitation, euphoria, sleep disturbances, polyneuritis.

    Digestive system: nausea, eructation, vomiting.

    Allergic reactions.

    Overdose:

    Cases of overdose are not described.

    Treatment is symptomatic.

    Interaction:

    Enhances the effect of alkylating antitumor drugs.

    Increases the toxicity of ethanol, barbiturates, tranquilizers, neuroleptics.

    Special instructions:

    In the treatment it is not recommended to drive vehicles and work with moving mechanisms.

    During treatment it is recommended to exclude the intake of drinks containing ethanol, as well as products rich in thiamine: sausages, cheese, yogurt.
