Description:

    • Pharmacodynamics:

    The expectorant effect of the thoracic elixir is due to the action of its constituent components:

    - licorice extract thick It possesses anti-inflammatory and expectorant properties that are associated with the content in the roots glycyrrhizin stimulates mucociliary activity in the trachea and the bronchi, and enhancing the secretory function of mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract;

    - anise oil an expectorant action due to the oil content of anethole, which contributes to the reflex stimulation of breathing, increased activity ciliated epithelium of the airways and increased secretion of the mucous membranes of the larynx, trachea and bronchus;

    - ammonia has an irritating effect that leads to the excitation of the endings of the sensory nerves of the upper respiratory tract and reflex stimulation of the respiratory center.

    Indications:

    As expectorant in infectious inflammatory respiratory diseases, accompanied by cough with expectoration trudnootdelyaemoy (including tracheitis, tracheobronchitis, bronchitis).

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, bronchial asthma, gastritis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum during the exacerbation, pregnancy, the period of breastfeeding.

    Carefully:

    Liver diseases, alcoholism, craniocerebral trauma, brain diseases, children's age.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Inside 3-4 times a day.

    Adults on 20-40 drops, children appoint to the reception as many drops as the child's age. Before use, dilute in a small amount of water.

    The course of treatment is 7-10 days. An increase in the duration and conduct of repeated courses of treatment is possible on the recommendation of a doctor.

    Side effects:

    Allergic reactions are possible, in some cases, diarrhea may occur.

    Overdose:

    With long-term use with excess of the indicated dosages hypokalemia, increased arterial pressure, the appearance of peripheral edema due to disturbance of water-salt metabolism are possible.

    Interaction:

    If necessary, can be used in combination with antibiotics and other medicines.

    It should not be used simultaneously with antitussive drugs, as this makes it difficult to cough up thinned phlegm.

    Special instructions:

    The composition contains 90% ethyl alcohol. The content of absolute ethyl alcohol in one drop of the drug is 0.0075 g, in the maximum single dose for adults - up to 0.3 g, in a maximum daily dose - up to 1.2 g.
