АТХ:

P.02.C.A   Benzimidazole derivatives

Pharmacodynamics:It is active against round worms-parasites of the human gastrointestinal tract. It penetrates through the worm envelope and paralyzes its muscles, as a result of which the helminth loses its ability to fix itself in the lumen of the intestine and is excreted with feces outward.

Spectrum of antimicrobial activity

Nematodes (action on adult forms): Ascaris lumbricoides (ascariasis), Enterobius vermicularis (enterobiosis), Ancylostoma duodenale, Necator americanus (ankylostomidosis), Trichostrongylus spp. (trichostrongylosis), Trichuris trichiura (Trichocephalus trichiurus, trichocephalus).

Pharmacokinetics:When ingestion is not absorbed, is excreted with feces.
Indications:Askaridoz.

Trichocephalus.

Enterobiosis.

Ankylostomidosis.

Strongyloidosis.

Contraindications:Hypersensitivity to the drug; pregnancy and the period of breastfeeding.
Carefully:Lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, which can lead to the resorptive action of carbendacim.
Pregnancy and lactation:The category of FDA recommendations is not defined. Adequate and well-controlled studies in humans and animals have not been conducted. Do not apply!

Lactation: there is no evidence of penetration into breast milk. Use with caution!

Dosing and Administration:Inside, after eating (the tablets are chewed and washed down with a small amount of water). Adults and children - at the rate of 10 mg / kg body weight per day. The daily dose is given in 3 divided doses; with enterobiasis - within one day, with other helminthiasis - within 3 days. After 2-3 weeks, the course of treatment is repeated. When using carbendacim, a special diet and a laxative application after taking are not required.

Application in elderly patients

Use in the elderly has not been systematically studied. There is no data on the need to change the dosage.

Use in children

Nematodose. Inside to 10 mg / kg per day 3 times during the day with enterobiasis and for 3 days with other helminthiasis.

Side effects:Nausea, weakness, allergic reactions.
Overdose:Not described, probably because there is no resorptive action (normal). Treatment - symptomatic therapy, monitoring and maintenance of vital functions.
Interaction:Clinically significant interactions are not defined. Combination therapy with anthelmintic agents increases the effectiveness of treatment of helminthiases, resistant to monotherapy.
Special instructions:Treatment requires monitoring: examination of the perianal region, analysis of feces for eggs and parts of helminth bodies.

Distinctive features
