Composition:

Composition per 5 ml of the preparation:

active substances: codeine phosphatemihydrate 4.5 mg, thermopsis extract suhoy - 10 mg, thyme extract liquid - 1000 mg, licorice extract dry - 165 mg;

Excipients: methylparagideroxy benzoate (nipagin) - 3.75 mg, propylparahydroxybenzoate (nipazole) 1.25 mg, sorbitol (sorbitol) - 3000 mg, water (purified water) - up to 5 ml.

Description:

The liquid is brown with a characteristic aromatic odor. In the course of storage, the formation of a precipitate is allowed.

    • Pharmacodynamics:

    Cough remedy, contains components of plant origin. Combined drug.

    Codeine reduces the excitability of the cough center, reducing the intensity of cough. In recommended therapeutic doses does not cause depression of the respiratory and cough center, does not disrupt the function of ciliated epithelium and does not reduce bronchial secretion.

    The herb of thermopsis exerts an expectorant effect, manifested in an increase in the secretory function of the bronchial glands,intensification of the activity of the ciliated epithelium and acceleration of secretion, an increase in the tone of the smooth muscles of the bronchi due to the central vagotropic effect.

    The licorice root exerts an expectorant, anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic effect. Contains glycyrpyridine, which has an antiviral effect, as well as potentiates the action of endogenous glucocorticosteroids, providing anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic action. Due to the pronounced anti-inflammatory activity, glycyrrhizin promotes the most rapid relief of the infectious-inflammatory process in the respiratory tract.

    Extract of herbs of thyme contains a mixture of essential oils that have expectorant, anti-inflammatory and bactericidal action due to increased activity of the ciliary epithelium of the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract, an increase in the secreted secretion of bronchial mucosa, dilution of sputum, acceleration of its evacuation and loosening of inflammatory raids. In addition, thyme has weak spasmolytic and reparative properties.

    Indications:Symptomatic treatment of dry cough of any etiology in bronchopulmonary diseases.
    Contraindications:

    - Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;

    - respiratory insufficiency;

    - bronchial asthma;

    - pregnancy and the period of breastfeeding;

    - taking morphine-like drugs (buprenorphine, nalboufine, pentazocine);

    - drinking alcohol;

    - Children under 12 years of age;

    - children and adolescents between 12 and 18 years old in the presence of pathology of respiratory organs (for example, bronchial asthma and other chronic diseases of the respiratory tract);

    - high activity of cytochrome P450 enzymes (CYP2D6).

    Pregnancy and lactation:The use of the drug Kodelans fito is contraindicated in pregnancy. If you need to use the drug during lactation, breast-feeding should be discontinued.
    Dosing and Administration:

    Adults and children over 12 years. Inside, 15-20 ml per day. The daily dose should be divided into 2-3 divided doses.

    Shake before use.

    Take an elixir is recommended in between meals.

    Symptomatic treatment should be short (several days).

    Side effects:

    When taking in therapeutic doses, it is possible to develop allergic reactions (skin itching, urticaria). Possible nausea, vomiting, constipation, headache, drowsiness. With prolonged use, it is possible to develop drug dependence on codeine.

    Overdose:

    Symptoms: drowsiness, vomiting, headache, itching, miosis, respiratory center depression, bradypnoe, arrhythmias, bradycardia, urinary retention, atony of the bladder. Treatment is symptomatic, including recovery of respiration and cardiovascular activity, gastric lavage, the introduction of respiratory analeptics, atropine and a competitive physiological antagonist codeine-naloxone.

    Interaction:

    It is undesirable to be used with other drugs that depress the central nervous system, because of the increased sedative effect and depressant effect on the respiratory center: hypnotics, sedatives, antihistamines, narcotic analgesics, morphine derivatives, anxiolytics, antipsychotic drugs.

    Codeine enhances the effect of ethanol on the psychomotor function.

    Chloramphenicol inhibits the biotransformation of codeine in the liver and thereby enhances its effect.

    When using codeine in high doses, the action of cardiac glycosides (digoxin etc.) can be amplified, because in connection with the weakening of peristalsis, their absorption increases. Adsorbents, astringents and enveloping agents can reduce the absorption of codeine, which is part of the drug, in the gastrointestinal tract.

    Special instructions:

    - Long-term treatment with high doses can lead to dependence on preparation;

    - one should not prescribe Kodelak® phyto onetemporarily with mucolytic and expectorantdrugs;

    - before the appointment of antitussive means should clarify the cause of the cough because of the possible need for a specialtreatment;

    - athletes should remember that preparat contains codeine and is doping;

    - care must be taken in case of increased intracranial pressuretion;

    - in patients with impaired renal function the release of codeine is slow, so It is recommended to extend the intervals between drug administration;

    - it is forbidden to drink alcohol drinks during the reception of Kodelak® phyto.

    Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:
    In connection with the possibility of developing sedative action, during the treatment, the use of the drug is not recommended when engaging in potentially dangerous activities requiring increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (vehicle management, work with moving mechanisms, dispatcher and operator work).
