Composition:

For 5 g of cream:

active ingredient: balm of medicinal leaves extract dry * - 50.0 mg,

auxiliary components: paraffin white soft - 870.0 mg, ethylene glycol mono (di) stearate - 650.0 mg, cetomacrogol 1000 - 32.5 mg, gasoline alcohol - 50.0 mg, purified water - 3347.5 mg.

* Melissa officinal leaf extract is obtained from the leaves of Melissa officinalis (Melissa officinalis L), the family-labiate (Lamiaceae) by extraction with water; the ratio of raw materials to the final product (dry extract) is 65-75: 1.

Pharmacodynamics:

The drug has antiviral activity against herpes simplex virus (Herpes simplex). The mechanism of action of the drug is due to blocking the receptors of the cell membrane and the outer envelope of the virus, which leads to a violation of the ability of the virus to enter the cell.

The drug also exhibits anti-inflammatory properties.

Pharmacokinetics:

The preparation contains a complex of biologically active substances, therefore it is not possible to carry out pharmacokinetic studies.

Indications:

Lesions of the skin and mucous membranes caused by the herpes virus (Herpes simplex) I and II types, including those localized on the lips.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Children under 18 years.

Pregnancy and lactation:

Due to the lack of sufficient clinical data, the use of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.

Dosing and Administration:

The cream is applied to the affected skin or mucous membranes 2-4 times a day.

Improvement is usually observed already at the very beginning of treatment. Treatment continues for another three days after the complete disappearance of lesions.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions are possible.

If you notice undesirable effects when using the drug, tell your doctor about it.

Overdose:

Cases of drug overdose have not been registered to date.

Special instructions:

It is recommended to begin treatment with the first symptoms or initial signs of herpes infection (burning, itching).
