Maraslavin® hypertonicity due to the drug is removed from the gingival tissue and gingival pockets toxic degradation products. Then, an increase in the number of collagen fibers, their compaction, the formation of a new epithelium and the restoration of the normal structure of the gums and the strengthening of periodontal binding to the root of the tooth root are observed.

When treating the hemorrhagic form of periodontitis, there is a reduction in edema and bleeding gums, which at the beginning of the treatment become pale and then pale pink and thicken, the gingival papillae thin out and gradually press against the neck of the tooth on the subemulsion-cement border. The gingival pockets decrease or disappear.

    Dosing and Administration:

Locally. Treatment is performed by the dentist and begins with the removal of supragingival tartar. At the same time, measures are taken to vent the gum pockets with a spray or a warm water jet.

Then instillation of Maraslavin® is carried out by means of loose cotton swabs into alveolar and bone pockets using a probe. To do this, pour in a glass vessel 20-25 ml of the drug, abundantly moisten them with cotton swabs, the size of which depends on the width of the alveolar pockets. Tampons are left in pockets for 5-6 minutes, and at this time they put tampons on the other side of the teeth or in the pockets of neighboring teeth. This procedure is repeated 5-6 times in one session (sequentially in each pocket). With each change of the tampon, it penetrates more easily and deeper into the alveolar pocket. The last tampons are left loosely in their pockets, the patient is released until the next day with a recommendation to remove the tampons himself in case of fever (due to purulent exudation) or other health problems and contact the dentist.

In the second treatment, tampons that are left after the first visit are removed and the subgingival tartar is removed. Sequentially put a few tampons in each pocket, as in the first session. The last tampons are also left as possible for 24 hours.

Treatment is carried out at intervals of three months. It should be 17-20 treatment sessions according to the method described above, depending on the degree of disease and the patient's condition. It is necessary that the first 5-6 sessions are conducted at an interval of 24 hours. The following treatment sessions are appointed by the dentist.

After the expiration of 5-6 months after the end of treatment, a control examination of the patient is performed. Regardless of the condition of the gums, 1-2 procedures (if necessary more) are performed with Maraslavin® treatment of the same sites on the alveoli with the aim of eliminating possible microbial pathogens of the process. The final examination is carried out 12 months after the start of treatment.

Side effects:Allergic reactions are possible, fever due to purulent exudation, photosensitivity. These phenomena disappear after the removal of tampons.
Overdose:So far, no cases of overdose have been reported.
