Mother-and-stepmother leaves.

Characteristic

Mother-and-stepmother leaves contain polysaccharides, bitter glycosides, organic acids, saponins, carotenoids, flavonoids, essential oil, tannins, and other biologically active substances.

Description:Pieces of leaves of various shapes passing through a sieve with apertures measuring 7 mm. The color is greyish - green. The smell is absent. The taste of water extract is slightly bitter with a sensation of mucus.

    • Pharmacodynamics:Infusion of leaves of mother-and-stepmother has expectorant, weak anti-inflammatory effect. Mucus (polysaccharides), organic acids and saponins contribute to the dilution of viscous separated airways, improvement of sputum discharge. Due to the high content of mucus, the mother-and-stepmother's preparations have an enveloping effect on the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat, preventing them from irritation.
    Indications:Inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract (laryngitis, tracheitis, bronchitis, bronchopneumonia), accompanied by a cough with hard-to-separate sputum.
    Contraindications:Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, pregnancy, the period of breastfeeding, children under 12 years.
    Pregnancy and lactation:Contraindicated use of the drug during pregnancy and during breastfeeding.
    Dosing and Administration:

    About 5 g (1 tablespoon) of raw materials are placed in enameled dishes, pour 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and insist on a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, filter, the remaining raw material is squeezed. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.

    Adults and children from 12 years old take 1 / 3-1 / 2 cup 2-3 times a day for 1 hour before meals; course of treatment 7-10 days.

    Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.

    Side effects:Allergic reactions are possible. If any of these side effects are aggravated, or if you notice any other side effects not listed in the instructions, tell your doctor.
    Overdose:Cases of overdose have not been registered to date.
    Interaction:It is not recommended simultaneous use of the drug with antitussive drugs (including containing codeine, dextromethorphan), since this makes it difficult to remove diluted sputum.
    Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:The drug has no effect on the ability to perform potentially dangerous activities requiring increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (including driving, working with moving mechanisms).
    Form release / dosage:The leaves are crushed.
    Packaging:50 grams of crushed raw materials in a pack of cardboard, with an internal package of paper, together with instructions for use. It is allowed to put the full text of instructions for use on the pack.
    Storage conditions:

    In dry the dark place.

    Ready to keep the infusion in a dark cool place for no more than 2 days.

    Keep out of the reach of children.

    Shelf life:

    3 years.

    Do not use after the expiration date.
