Characteristic

Mother-and-stepmother leaves contain a large number of mucous substances (up to 10%), tannins, bitterness, flavonoids and other biologically active substances.

Description:

Pieces of leaves of various shapes passing through a sieve with apertures 7 mm in diameter. Color grayish green. The smell is absent. The taste is slightly bitter with a sensation of mucus.

Pharmacodynamics:

Infusion of leaves of mother-and-stepmother has expectorant, weak anti-inflammatory effect. Slime, organic acids and saponins contribute to the dilution of viscous discharge in the upper respiratory tract, improvement of sputum discharge. Due to the high content of mucus, the mother-and-stepmother's preparations have an enveloping effect on the mucous membranes of the mouth, throat and larynx, preventing them from irritation.

Indications:

Infusion of leaves of mother-and-stepmother is used as an expectorant for inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract (including laryngitis, tracheitis, chronic bronchitis), in complex therapy bronchopneumonia.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the drug; pregnancy, the period of breastfeeding, children under 12 years.

Dosing and Administration:

About 10 g (3 tablespoons) of mother-and-stepmother leaves are placed in enamel ware, pour 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and heat in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, filter, the remaining raw material is squeezed. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.

Take 2-3 tablespoons 2-3 times a day for 1 hour before meals.

Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions are possible.

Overdose:

Cases of overdose have not been identified to date.

Interaction:

The use of the drug is not recommended with antitussive drugs containing codeine, t. this makes it difficult to move away from sputum.

Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:

The drug has no effect on the ability to perform potentially hazardous activities requiring increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (including driving, working with moving mechanisms).

35 grams, 40 grams, 50 grams, 75 grams, 100 grams in a pack of cardboard with an inner paper bag and instructions for use.

Storage conditions:

In a dry place protected from light.

Ready to keep the infusion in a cool place for no more than 2 days.

Keep out of the reach of children.

Shelf life:

3 years.
