Composition:Mother-and-stepmother leaves.
Description:Pieces of leaves of various forms, from the upper side of the naked, from the lower white-pointed-pubescent. The color is greyish-green with light brown and dark brown patches. The smell is absent. The taste of water extract is slightly bitter with a sensation of mucus.
Pharmacotherapeutic group:Expectorant of plant origin
Pharmacodynamics:

Infusion of leaves of mother-and-stepmother has expectorant, weak anti-inflammatory effect.

Polysaccharides promote the liquefaction of a viscous release in the respiratory tract, improvement of sputum discharge. Due to their high content, the mother-and-stepmother's preparations have an enveloping effect on the mucous membranes of the mouth, throat and larynx, preventing them from irritation.

Indications:Inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract (laryngitis, tracheitis, chronic bronchitis, bronchopneumonia, whooping cough), accompanied by a cough with hard-to-separate sputum.
Contraindications:Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, pregnancy, lactation, children under 12 years.
Dosing and Administration:

About 5 g (1 tablespoon) of raw materials are placed in enamel ware, pour 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and insist on a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, filter, the remaining raw material is squeezed. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.

Take inside in a warm form 1/2 - 1/3 cup 2-3 times a day for 1 hour before meals. Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.

Side effects:Allergic reactions are possible.
