    Characteristic

    Mother-and-stepmother leaves contain mucous substances, bitter glycosides, saponins, carotenoids, flavonoids, essential oil, tannins, macro- and microelements and other biologically active substances.

    Description:

    Pieces of leaves of various forms, from the upper side of the naked, from the bottom whitish-felt-pubescent, with a rarely-edged edge, passing through a sieve with holes of 7 mm. Color grayish green. The smell is absent. The taste of water extract is slightly bitter with a mucous sensation.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Infusion of leaves of mother-and-stepmother has expectorant, weak anti-inflammatory effect. Slime, organic acids and saponins contribute to the dilution of viscous discharge in the upper respiratory tract, improvement of sputum discharge. Due to the high content of mucus, the mother-and-stepmother's preparations have an enveloping effect on the mucous membranes of the mouth, throat and larynx, preventing them from irritation.

    Indications:

    Inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract (laryngitis, tracheitis, bronchitis, bronchopneumonia), accompanied by a cough with hard-to-separate sputum.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the drug, pregnancy, the period of breastfeeding, children under 12 years.

    Pregnancy and lactation:Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation.
    Dosing and Administration:

    About 10 grams (2 tablespoons) of leaves are placed in enameled dishes, poured 200 ml (1 glass) of boiling water, covered with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cooled at room temperature for 45 minutes, filtered, the remaining raw materials squeezed. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.

    Take in warm water adults and children from 12 years to 1 / 2-1 / 3 cup 2-3 times a day for 1 hour before meals. Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.

    Side effects:

    Allergic reactions are possible.

    Overdose:

    Cases of overdose have not been registered to date.

    Interaction:

    Simultaneous use with antitussive drugs (including containing codeine, dextromethorphan) is not recommended, since it makes it difficult to remove diluted sputum.

    Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:The drug has no effect on the ability to perform potentially hazardous activities requiring increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (including driving, working with moving mechanisms).
    Form release / dosage:The leaves are crushed.
    Packaging:35 grams, 50 grams, 75 grams per pack of cardboard with an inner paper bag or with an inner bag of polypropylene. The full text of the instructions for use is printed on the pack.
    Storage conditions:

    In a dry place protected from light.

    Prepared water extraction - in a dark cool place no more than 2 days.

    Keep out of the reach of children.

    Shelf life:

    3 years.

    Do not use after the expiration date.
