Composition:

Peppermint leaves.

Characteristic

Leaves peppermint contains an essential oil, which includes menthol and its esters (β-pinene, limonene, cineole, dipentene, пулегон and other terpenoids), flavonoids and other biologically active substances.

Description:

Pieces of leaves of various shapes passing through a sieve with holes 2 mm in size. Color from light green to dark green with brownish and whitish blotches. The smell is strong, fragrant; the taste of the water extract is slightly burning, cooling.

    • Pharmacodynamics:

    Infusion of peppermint leaves has spasmolytic, calming, choleretic, antiemetic and locally irritating effects.

    Indications:

    Symptomatic therapy: spasms of smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract, nausea, vomiting.

    Contraindications:Hypersensitivity to the drug, early childhood (up to 3 years).
    Pregnancy and lactation:

    Application in pregnancy and during breastfeeding is possible if the expected benefit for the mother exceeds the potential risk for the child.Consultation of the attending physician is necessary.

    Dosing and Administration:

    2 filter packets (3.0 g) are placed in a glass or enamel ware, pour 100 ml (1/2 cup) of boiling water, cover with a lid and insist 15 minutes. Filter packs are squeezed, the volume of the obtained infusion is brought to boiling water to 100 ml.

    Accepted inwards 2-3 times a day for 15 minutes before meals: children from 3 to 6 years old for 1 dessert spoon, children from 6 to 14 years - 1-2 tablespoons, children over 14 years and adults - 1 / 3-1 / 2 cups.

    Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.

    Allergic reactions are possible.

    Overdose:

    To date, cases of overdose with the use of the drug has not been recorded.
