Composition:

Peppermint leaves.

Characteristic

Leaves of peppermint contain an essential oil of not less than 1%, which includes menthol about 50%, flavonoids, tannins, carotenoids and other biologically active substances.

Description:

Pieces of leaves of various shapes passing through a sieve with holes 2 mm in size. Color from light green to dark green with greenish-violet, grayish-white, yellowish-white, brownish-white, pale-violet, brownish-violet, violet impregnations.

The smell is strong, fragrant. The taste of the water extract is slightly burning, cooling.

  • Pharmacodynamics:

    Infusion of peppermint leaves has spasmolytic, calming, choleretic, antiemetic and locally irritating effects.

    Indications:

    Symptomatic therapy: spasms of smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract, nausea, vomiting.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the drug, early childhood (up to 3 years).

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    Application in pregnancy and during breastfeeding is possible,if the expected benefit for the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus and the baby. It is necessary to consult a doctor.

    Dosing and Administration:

    2 filter packets (3 g) are placed in a glass or enamel ware, pour 100 ml (1/2 cup) of boiling water, cover with a lid and insist 15 minutes, periodically pressing on the bags with a spoon, then squeeze them. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 100 ml with boiled water.

    Accepted inwards 2-3 times a day for 15 minutes before meals: children from 3 to 5 years - 1 dessert spoon, children from 6 to 14 years - 1-2 tablespoons, children over 14 years and adults - 1 / 3- 1/2 cup.

    Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.

    Side effects:

    Allergic reactions are possible.

    Overdose:

    Cases of overdose have not been registered to date.
