Composition:

Peppermint leaves.

Characteristic

They contain essential oil not less than 1%, which includes menthol about 50%, flavonoids, tannins, carotenoids and other biologically active substances.

Description:

A mixture of pieces of leaves, stems, rarely - flowers and buds. Color from light to dark green or greenish-brown with greenish-violet, grayish-white, yellowish-white, brownish-white, pale purple, violet impregnations.

The smell is strong, fragrant. The taste of the water extract is slightly burning, cooling.

    • Pharmacodynamics:

    Infusion of peppermint leaves has spasmolytic, calming, choleretic, antiemetic and locally irritating effects.

    Indications:

    Spasm of smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract, nausea, vomiting.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the drug, early childhood.

    Dosing and Administration:

    About 5 grams (1 tablespoon) of leaves are placed in enameled dishes, pour 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and heat for 15 minutes in a boiling water bath,then it is cooled for 45 minutes at room temperature, filtered, the remaining raw material is squeezed. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.

    Take 1 / 3-1 / 2 cup 2-3 times a day for 15 minutes before meals. Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.
