Mint leaves contain an essential oil, which includes menthol and its ethers (β -pinene, limonene, cineole, dipentene, пулегон and other terpenoids); organic acids, tannins, flavonoids, carotene, betaine, hesperidin, microelements and other biologically active substances.

Description:Pieces of leaves of various shapes, up to 10 mm and larger, with an admixture of flowers and buds. The color of the leaves is from light green to dark green. The smell is strong, fragrant. The taste of the water extract is slightly burning, cooling.

  • Pharmacodynamics:Infusion of peppermint leaves has spasmolytic, calming, choleretic, antiemetic and locally irritating effects.
    Indications:Symptomatic therapy: spasms of smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract, nausea, vomiting.
    Contraindications:Hypersensitivity to mint preparations, early childhood (up to 3 years).
    Pregnancy and lactation:Application during pregnancy and lactation is possible,if the expected benefit for the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus and the baby. It is necessary to consult a doctor.
    Dosing and Administration:About 5 g (1 tablespoon) of the crushed raw material is placed in enameled dishes, poured 200 ml (1pst) of hot boiled water, covered with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, then cooled at room temperature for 45 minutes, filtered, the remaining raw material is squeezed. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water. Take 2-3 times a day for 15 minutes before meals: children from 3 to 5 years - 1 dessert spoon, children from 6 to 14 years - 1-2 tablespoons, children over 14 years and adults - 1 / 3 - 1/2 cup. Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.
