    Pharmacodynamics:

    Mechanism of action

    An antiparasitic agent, has an anti-pediculous effect. It breaks the permeability of sodium channels of membranes of nerve cells of insects, inhibits the process of polarization (repolarization) of the nerve cell, which leads to a paralyzing effect. Effective against nits, larvae and sexually mature head lice.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    After the cutaneous application, the permethrin absorption is less than 2% within the first 48 hours. Therefore, its toxic effects were not usually considered.

    Permethrin is metabolized in the skin by hydrolysis with the participation of esterases to inactive metabolites, which are mainly excreted from the body through kidney.

    The highest level of excretion was observed within the first 48 hours, but in some people, a very low level of metabolites in the urine was detected within 21 days after the application of the cream.

    Indications:

    - Treatment of pediculosis of the scalp (effect on lice and nits).

    Contraindications:

    - Hypersensitivity to permethrin and other components of the drug, and also other compounds related to pyrethroids and pyrethrins; acute dermatitis of the scalp.

    - Pregnancy.

    - Lactation period.

    - Children's age (up to 6 months).

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    The use of the drug during pregnancy is possible if the potential benefit to the mother exceeds the risk to the fetus.

    During lactation, the drug can be used only after consultation with a doctor.

    Dosing and Administration:

    For external use only.

    Adults (including the elderly)

    1. Wash hair with normal shampoo, rinse thoroughly with water and towel dry.

    2. Before use, shake the bottle with Nix cream and, actively rubbing, apply on the head such quantity of cream, which is sufficient for complete treatment of the hair and skin of the scalp (the amount of the applied preparation depends on the length and thickness of the hair). Particular attention should be paid to the area behind the ears and the back of the head.

    3. Do not flush the Nyx cream for 10 minutes.

    4. Wash your hair thoroughly with water and towel dry.

    5. To remove dead lice and dying wet hair, comb the attached comb.

    Across 7-10 days, check the scalp for nits and, if nits are found, repeat the use of the Nyx preparation.

    Children

    Apply as in adults.

    It is not recommended to use in children younger than 6 months, excluding cases of prescribing a drug of this category of children by a doctor.

    Patients with impaired renal function No dosage adjustment is required.

    Patients with impaired hepatic function No dosage adjustment is required.

    Side effects:

    From the nervous system: paresthesia.

    From the skin and subcutaneous fat: eczema, skin edema, redness, rash, itching, burning sensation, irritation and discomfort of the skin, burning pain, tenderness of the skin.

    Allergic reactions.

    Overdose:

    It is unlikely that even with improper application or excessive application of Nyx cream, clinically significant toxic effects may develop.

    Due to the content of isopropyl alcohol in the preparation, it is theoretically possible the occurrence of alcohol intoxication with accidental ingestion of the drug by young children.

    Symptoms

    The most likely symptoms that can develop primarily when the drug is taken orally and rarely after applying a lot of cream on the skin surface are dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, headache, weakness, convulsions, loss of consciousness.

    Cream Nix is ​​intended for external use only.

    More than 90% of patients were cured after 1 application of the drug.

    The drug Nyx should be used only if there are live lice or nits.The drug should not be used regularly / with prophylactic purposes.

    It is necessary to examine the remaining members of the family and treat them if they detect lice or nits.

    Permethrin does not cause eye irritation, however, its contact with the eyes should be avoided, since other components of the cream may cause irritation when it enters the eyes.

    If you accidentally get the cream in the eyes, they should be washed with plenty of water or with saline.

    When using Nyx cream, including medical personnel, you can protect your hands from irritation with gloves or wash your hands after handling with soap and water. If skin irritation symptoms appear, consult a doctor.

    In case of severe and prolonged signs and symptoms of skin irritation of the scalp, unpleasant sensations on the skin or other undesirable effects associated with the use of Nyx cream. this should be reported to your doctor or pharmacist.
