Composition:

The leaves contain glycoside orthosiphonin, triterpene saponins, tannins and other biologically active substances.

Description:

Pieces of leaves and stems of various shapes. The color is green, greyish-green, purple-brown, greenish-brown or brown. The smell is weak. The taste of water extract is slightly bitter, slightly astringent.

    • Pharmacodynamics:

    Infusion of leaves of orthosiphon stamen (kidney tea) has a moderate diuretic and spasmolytic effect, and also has choleretic properties, increases the secretory activity of the gastric mucosa.

    Diuretic effect is accompanied by excretion of urine chloride, urea and uric acid.

    Indications:

    In the complex therapy for edema, resulting from a violation of kidney function, chronic heart failure.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the drug, children under 12 years.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    The application is possible taking into account the potential benefits for the mother and the risk to the fetus and the baby. It is necessary to consult a doctor.

    Dosing and Administration:

    About 3 g (1 tablespoon) of crushed leaves are placed in enameled pots, pour 200 ml (1 cup) of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and insist on a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, strain, remaining raw materials squeeze out. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.

    Take inside in a warm form for 1/2 cup 2 times a day for 20 - 30 minutes before meals. The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks. Conducting a second course is possible in agreement with the doctor. Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.
