Inhibits phosphodiesterase, causes accumulation in the cell of cyclic adenosine monophosphate and a decrease in the content of calcium ions, reduces tone and relaxes the smooth muscles of the internal organs (gastrointestinal tract, respiratory and genitourinary system) and vessels. It causes an enlargement of the arteries, promotes an increase in blood flow, including cerebral blood flow.In large doses reduces the excitability of the heart muscle and slows intracardiac conduction.
