    Pharmacodynamics:

    Contains specific antibodies that neutralize rabies virus.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    After intramuscular injection, the maximum concentration in the blood plasma is achieved after 2-3 days.

    The half-life is 3-4 weeks.

    Indications:

    It is used in combination with an antirabic vaccine to prevent the development of rabies in patients with hydrophobia who have undergone multiple bites of rabid animals suspected of rabies.

    Contraindications: None.With individual intolerance, premedication with glucocorticoids or antihistamines is performed.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Once, intramuscularly: children - in anterolateral hip surface, adults - in the upper outer quadrant of the buttocks; on 20 IU / kg of weight. Most of the drug is injected directly into the bites - deep into the wound and around it.

    Side effects:

    Local Reactions: swelling and hyperemia at the injection site.

    Allergic reactions.

    Overdose:

    Cases of overdose are not described.

    Treatment is symptomatic.

    Special instructions:

    The drug should be administered no later than 7 days after contact with the animal. Intravenous administration of the drug is prohibited.

    Rules for combined treatment and prevention of rabies: first introduced anti rabies immunoglobulin, then no sooner than 30 minutes - rabies vaccine (using different syringes).
