    Pharmacodynamics:

    Accelerates the excretion of ethanol and acetaldehyde from the body; activates the enzymes involved in the metabolism of ethanol. Restores the ratio of saturated and unsaturated free fatty acids in plasma, prevents primary structural degeneration of hepatocytes; inhibits the formation of fibronectin and collagen, inhibits the development of fibrosis and cirrhosis of the liver. Has anti-alcohol, hepatoprotective, detoxification effects. Reduces the severity of mental and physical symptoms of a hangover state, shortens the time of cupping of alcohol withdrawal syndrome.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    Absorption is high. Bioavailability is 60-80%. Connection with plasma proteins - 50%. The half-life is 40-60 minutes. Biotransformation in the liver to active metabolites of pyridoxine and pyrrolidone carboxylate. It is excreted by the kidneys (45-50% within 24 hours) and with feces (35-50% for 96 hours).

    Contraindications:

    Individual intolerance.

    Pregnancy and breastfeeding.

    Carefully:Assign with caution in Parkinson's disease, since metadoxine reduces the effectiveness of antiparkinsonian drugs.
    Pregnancy and lactation:

    The category of FDA recommendations is not defined. The drug is contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Alcoholic hepatopathy: inside, 500 mg 2-3 times a day or intramuscularly for 300 mg in dayki. The duration of treatment is at least 3 months.

    Intramuscularly and intravenously drip in case of acute alcohol intoxication: 300-600 mg intramuscularly or 300-900 mg intravenously, depending on the degree of intoxication.

    For aalcohol withdrawal syndrome: 900 mg in the form of intravenous infusion once a day for 3-7 days, depending on the patient's condition. Before intravenous the required amount is diluted in 500 ml of isotonic sodium chloride solution or 5% dextrose solution (glucose).
