    Pharmacodynamics:

    The four-cyclic antidepressant, in the structure of which there is no side chain, which determines the anticholinergic effect of tricyclic antidepressants. Blocks 5-HT2 receptors and α2-adrenergic receptors. Strengthens adrenergic transmission in the brain by stimulating the release of the mediator into the synaptic cleft due to blockade of presynaptic α2adrenoreceptors.

    Has an anxiolytic, antidepressant, sedative and hypnotic effect.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    After oral administration, an empty stomach is absorbed up to 20% in the gastrointestinal tract. The maximum concentration in the blood plasma is achieved in 2-4 hours. The connection with plasma proteins is 96%.

    Metabolism in the liver.

    The half-life is 32 hours. Elimination by the kidneys.

    Indications:

    It is used to treat depressive conditions of various genesis.

    Contraindications:

    Manic syndrome, severe hepatic insufficiency, acute myocardial infarction, epilepsy, individual intolerance, children under 18 years of age.

      Carefully:

      Renal insufficiency, hypersensitivity.

        Pregnancy and lactation:

        Recommendations for FDA - Category C. Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation.

        Dosing and Administration:

        Inside for 30-40 mg for 2-3 hours, or once a night. Depending on the individual reaction, the dose can be increased to 60-90 mg per day. For elderly patients, the dose should not exceed 30 mg per day.

        The highest daily dose: 90 mg per day.

        The highest single dose: 90 mg per day.

        Side effects:

        Central and peripheral nervous system: hypomania, drowsiness, convulsions.

        Hemopoietic system: leukopenia, agranulocytosis, aplastic anemia.

        The cardiovascular system: arterial hypotension.

        Digestive system: stomatitis, violations of the liver, jaundice.

        Musculoskeletal system: arthralgia.

        Dermatological reactions: exanthema, rash.

        Reproductive system: gynecomastia.

        Allergic reactions.

        Overdose:

        Prolonged sedation.

        Treatment is symptomatic.

        Interaction:

        Incompatible with monoamine oxidase inhibitors, if necessary, their use is possible with an interval of at least two weeks after admission mianserin.

        Strengthens the depressive effect of ethanol.

        It reduces the effects of anticonvulsants.

        Special instructions:

        In the treatment it is not recommended to drive vehicles and work with moving mechanisms.
