C.01.D.X   Other peripheral vasodilators for the treatment of heart disease

    C.01.D.X.16   Nicorandil

    Pharmacodynamics:

Opens potassium channels, after which the hyperpolarization of cell membranes occurs and, due to nitrate-like action, increases the content of cyclic guanylmonophosphate inside cells, which leads to relaxation of myocardiocytes and protects them from hypoxia.

Due to selective vasodilation of the coronary arteries reduces the burden on the ischemic myocardium, without affecting its contractility. Do not change the heart rate, reduces systemic blood pressure to 10%, and therefore improves blood flow to the brain in ischemic stroke.

Cures an attack of angina within 10-15 minutes with sublingual admission.

    Pharmacokinetics:

After oral administration, it is completely absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. The maximum concentration in the blood plasma is reached after 0.5-1 h. The connection with plasma proteins is 25%.

The therapeutic effect develops in 3-5 minutes after the reception. Metabolism in the liver.

The half-life is 50 minutes. Elimination by the kidneys.
