Pharmacodynamics:

Stimulates α- and β-adrenergic receptors of the central nervous system and the release of norepinephrine from nerve endings, has an anorexigenic effect due to depression of the appetite center in the hypothalamus.

Pharmacokinetics:

After oral administration, it is completely absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. The maximum concentration in the blood plasma is achieved in 1-2 hours.

Not exposed to metabolism.

The half-life is 3-5 hours. Elimination of the kidneys unchanged.

Indications:It is used to treat obesity.

Contraindications:Ischemic heart disease, arterial hypertension, bronchial asthma, central nervous system diseases, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, hyperthyroidism, thyroid hyperplasia, individual intolerance, children under 12 years.

Carefully:Hypersensitivity, age from 12 to 18 years and over 68 years.

Pregnancy and lactation:

Recommendations for FDA - Category C. Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation.

Dosing and Administration:Inside, after breakfast, with a glass of water, 75 mg per day.The course of treatment is 12 weeks.

The highest daily dose: 75 mg.

The highest single dose: 75 mg.

Side effects:Central and peripheral nervous system: headache, dizziness, sleep disturbances, agitation, tremor,

The cardiovascular system: tachycardia.

Digestive system: anorexia.

Sense organs: visual impairment.

Allergic reactions.

Overdose:Increased side effects.

Treatment is symptomatic.

Interaction:Reserpine weakens the effect.

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors and central nervous system stimulants increase toxic effects.

Simultaneous use with atenolol, propranolol, cardiac glycosides increases the risk of arrhythmia.

Incompatible with indomethacin and thioridazine.

Special instructions:

In the treatment it is not recommended to drive vehicles and work with moving mechanisms.
