    Pharmacodynamics:

    Selectively, dose-dependent stimulates dopamine D2-receptors, inhibiting the secretion of prolactin in the anterior pituitary, without affecting the secretion of other hormones of the adenohypophysis.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    After oral administration, the empty stomach is completely absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. The maximum concentration in the blood plasma is achieved in 3-4 hours. The connection with plasma proteins is 90%.

    The therapeutic effect develops in 4-6 hours and lasts for 24 hours after ingestion. Metabolism in the liver.

    The half-life is 11.5 hours. Elimination by the kidneys.

    Indications:

    It is used to treat hyperprolactinemia, accompanied by galactorrhea, dysmenorrhea, decreased libido and infertility.

    Contraindications:

    Renal and hepatic insufficiency, individual intolerance, children under 18 years of age.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    Recommendations for FDA - Category C. Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Inside, at an initial dose of 25 mg 1 time per day before bedtime for 3 days, then 50 mg per day for the next 3 days, from the 7th day to 75 mg per day. If necessary, it is possible to increase the daily dose by 75-100 mg every 4 weeks.

    The highest daily dose: 300 mg.

    The highest single dose: 300 mg.

    Side effects:

    Central and peripheral nervous system: dizziness, headache, sleep disturbances, hallucinations, acute psychosis.

    The cardiovascular system: hyperemia of the face, arterial hypotension, orthostatic hypotension.

    Digestive system: anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation.

    Sense organs: nasal congestion.

    Allergic reactions.

    Overdose:

    Acute hallucinatory syndrome, collapse.

    Treatment is symptomatic, antidote - metoclopramide.

    Interaction:

    Ethanol increases toxic side effects.

    Neuroleptics weaken the action of quinagolide.

    Special instructions:

    When taking the drug is recommended a constant control of blood pressure.

    In the treatment it is not recommended to drive vehicles and work with moving mechanisms.
