    Pharmacodynamics:

    It consists of low-molecular biologically active neuropeptides penetrating the blood-brain barrier, where it exerts a multimodal effect on neurons of the brain. It has a neuroprotective effect, possesses a neurotrophic activity.

    It enhances aerobic energy metabolism, improves protein synthesis inside brain cells. Prevents the formation of free radicals, reduces the neurotoxic effect of glutamate.

    It improves cognitive functions, positively influences memorization processes.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    Not described.

    It is known that after a single administration the activity of cerebrolysin in blood plasma persists for 24 hours.

    Indications:

    It is used to treat Alzheimer's disease, dementia syndrome, chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency, ischemic stroke, hyperactivity and attention deficit in children. Used for traumatic injuries of the brain and spinal cord, endogenous depression, resistant to the action of antidepressants.

    Acute renal failure, epileptic status, individual intolerance.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    Recommendations for FDA - Category B. It is used in pregnancy and lactation.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Intravenous and intramuscular. The dose is calculated individually.

    The highest daily dose: 50 ml.

    The highest single dose: 50 ml.

    Side effects:

    Central and peripheral nervous system: headache, dizziness, agitation, confusion, insomnia, apathy, tremor.

    Respiratory system: shortness of breath, hyperventilation.

    The cardiovascular system: arterial hypotension or hypertension, with rapid administration - arrhythmia.

    Digestive system: decreased appetite, rarely - vomiting, constipation.

    Dermatological reactions: hyperhidrosis, hyperemia, pruritus.

    Allergic reactions.

    Overdose:

    Cases of overdose are not described.

    Treatment is symptomatic.

    Interaction:

    Strengthens the action of monoamine oxidase inhibitors and antidepressants.

    Special instructions:

    After opening the vial / ampoule with cerebrolysin, the solution must be used immediately.
