This condition is accompanied by a sensation of blood rush to the face, vomiting, tachycardia, dyspnea, which makes it extremely unpleasant to use ethyl alcohol after taking the drug and contributes to the formation of a conditioned reflex aversion to the taste and smell of alcohol.

The sensitizing effect of cyanamide on alcohol is detected after 45-60 minutes and lasts about 12 hours.

Simultaneous use with aldehyde dehydrogenase inhibitors (metronidazole, isoniazid, phenytoin) enhances the reaction with alcohol. Cyanamide can be used after taking disulfiram no earlier than 10 days later.

With the simultaneous reception with alcohol, weakness develops, difficulty breathing, marked hyperemia of the skin, a sensation of pulsation in the head and neck, chest pain, blurred vision, tachycardia, nausea, increased sweating. In more severe cases - arterial hypotension, vomiting, respiratory depression, collapoid state. The nature and severity of the symptoms is dose-dependent. Treatment: symptomatic therapy aimed at maintaining the functions of respiration and cardiovascular system, intravenous administration of antihistamines.

    Special instructions:

It is used only under the supervision of a doctor and with the patient's consent to the therapy.

Treatment can be started only after 12 hours from the last intake of ethanol. With prolonged use, it is necessary to monitor the function of the thyroid gland.
