Pharmacodynamics:

Due to antidopaminergic activity affects the trigger zones located in the brain stem, suppresses nausea and vomiting in gastrointestinal disorders. Increases the tone and improves the motility of the gastrointestinal tract. Strengthens the secretion of prolactin.

Pharmacokinetics:

After oral administration, up to 70% is absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. The maximum concentration in the blood plasma is reached after 30 minutes. The connection with plasma proteins is 96%. Penetrates through the blood-brain and placental barrier, is found in breast milk.

Metabolism in the liver.

The half-life is 6 hours. Elimination by the kidneys.

Indications:

It is used to treat nausea and vomiting, including radiation therapy. Used in radiocontrast and endoscopic studies of the gastrointestinal tract for suppression of the emetic reflex.

Dosing and Administration:

Use in children

Inside, for 5-10 drops per 1 kg per day in two divided doses. Intramuscularly or intravenously - 2 ml 1-2 times a day.

Adults

Inside before meals, 10 mg 3 times a day. In suppositories 20 mg every 1-2 times a day. Intramuscularly or intravenously, 10 mg (1 ampoule) 1-2 times a day.

The highest daily dose: 40 mg.

The highest single dose: 20 mg.

Side effects:

Central and peripheral nervous system: headache, drowsiness, dizziness, extrapyramidal symptoms.

Musculoskeletal system: dyskinesia of the muscles of the neck, head and shoulder girdle.

Digestive system: dry mouth.

Sense organs: noise in ears.

Reproductive system: prolactinemia, galactorrhea.

Allergic reactions.

Overdose:

Increased side effects.

Treatment is symptomatic.

Interaction:

Clinically significant interactions are not described.
