    Pharmacodynamics:

    It blocks the absorption of glucose by cestodes, thereby increasing the resistance of parasites to the action of digestive enzymes. It disrupts the processes of oxidative phosphorylation, which leads to the interruption of anaerobic glycolysis in the body of tapeworms. As a result, helminths lose mobility, die and are digested in the intestine.

    It is active in relation to tapeworms: bovine tapeworm, dwarf chainworm, wide ribbon.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    After oral administration, the empty stomach is not absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. Has an effect in the cavities of the small and large intestine. Not exposed to metabolism.

    The half-life is 2.5-5 hours. Elimination with feces.

    Indications:

    It is used for the treatment of teniarinchosis, hymenolepiasis, diphyllobothriasis.

    Contraindications:

    Peptic ulcer of stomach and duodenum in the period of exacerbation, children's age up to 2 years, individual intolerance.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    Recommendations for FDA - Category B. The drug is not absorbed into the blood and has no systemic effect.It is used with caution in pregnancy, in those cases when the effect of treatment exceeds the harm to the fetus.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Use in children

    The drug is used from the age of two.

    Inside, for 7 days. Dosage depends on the weight of the child:

    at invasion bull chain and a wide ribbon:

    11-34 kg - 1 time per day for 1.0 g;

    over 34 kg - 1 time per day for 1.5 g.

    at invasion with a dwarf chain:

    11-34 kg - 1.0 g on the first day, then 500 mg once a day for 6 days;

    over 34 kg - 1.5 g on the first day, then 1.0 g once a day for 6 days. If necessary, the course of treatment can be extended to 14 days.

    Adults

    Inside, on an empty stomach, previously chewed the tablet, 2.0 grams 1 time per day for 7 days.

    The highest daily dose: 2.0 g.

    The highest single dose: 2.0 g.

    Side effects:

    Central and peripheral nervous system: dizziness.

    Digestive system: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.

    Dermatological reactions: itching, exacerbation of neurodermatitis.

    Sense organs: photophobia

    Allergic reactions.

    Overdose:

    Increased side effects.

    Treatment is symptomatic.

    Interaction:

    Clinically significant interactions are not described.

    Special instructions:

    It does not apply to shadows, since increases the risk of developing cysticercosis.
