    Pharmacodynamics:

    Stimulates the processes of cleavage of liver glycogen, increasing the concentration of glucose in the blood plasma. He has an effect nInadequate amounts of glycogen in the liver.

    Stimulates the release of catecholamines, reduces the tone and peristalsis of the gastrointestinal tract. Does not affect the release of muscle glycogen, increases the secretion of insulin β-cells of the pancreas. Strengthens the formation of cAMP, due to which it has a foreign and chronotropic effect on the myocardium.

    Pharmacokinetics:With intramuscular injection the maximum concentration in the blood plasma is achieved after 13 minutes, after 20 minutes - with subcutaneous injection.

    The therapeutic effect develops 5-20 minutes after application. Metabolism in the liver and kidneys by enzyme proteolysis.

    The half-life is 3-6 minutes. Elimination by the kidneys.

    Indications:It is used to stop the state of hypoglycemia. It is used for diagnostic purposes for X-ray examination of the gastrointestinal tract.

    Contraindications:Pheochromocytoma, glucagonoma, insuloma, individual intolerance.

    Carefully:Suspicion of pheochromocytoma, hypersensitivity.

    Pregnancy and lactation:Recommendations for FDA - Category B. It is used with caution during pregnancy and lactation in cases where the intended benefit exceeds the risk to the fetus and newborn.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Use in children

    Intramuscularly or subcutaneously:

    Up to 6 years in an amount of 0.5 mg;

    Older than 6 years with a weight of more than 25 kg - 1.0 mg each.

    Adults

    Intramuscularly or subcutaneously in an amount of 1.0 mg.

    The highest daily dose: 1.0 mg.

    The highest single dose: 1.0 mg.

    Side effects:

    The cardiovascular system: tachycardia, arterial hypertension.

    Digestive system: nausea, vomiting.

    Dermatological reactions: itching, rash.

    Allergic reactions.

    Overdose:Indomitable vomiting, anorexia, convulsions, myalgia, arrhythmia, dehydration.

    Treatment is symptomatic, replenishment of potassium losses.

    Interaction:Strengthens the effect of indirect anticoagulants.

    Indomethacin lowers the effect of glucagon.

    Special instructions:

    The use of the drug is unjustified in fasting or dieting patients,in patients with chronic hypoglycemia, adrenal insufficiency, alcoholism.
