Composition:

Plantain leaves are large.

Characteristic

The leaves of the plantain contain mucus, bitter substances, tannins, carotene, ascorbic acid, vitamin K, flavonoids, macro- and microelements and other biologically active substances.

Description:

Pieces of leaf blades and petioles passing through a sieve with holes 2 mm in size. The color is green or brownish green. The smell is weak. The taste of water extract is slightly bitter.

  • Pharmacodynamics:

    Infusion of plantain leaves strengthens the secretion of bronchial glands, has mucolytic, anti-inflammatory effect, stimulates the secretion of gastric juice, increases its acidity.

    Indications:

    Applied as an expectorant for diseases of the upper respiratory tract (bronchitis, tracheitis, etc.) in the complex therapy.

    Contraindications:Hypersensitivity to plantain large.
    Hyper secretion of gastric juice, peptic ulcer of stomach and duodenum during exacerbation, hyperacid gastritis.
    Pregnancy and lactation:

    Application during pregnancy and during lactation is possible if the expected benefit for the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus and the baby. It is necessary to consult a doctor.

    Dosing and Administration:3 filter bags are placed in a glass or enamel ware, poured into 100 ml (1/2 cup) of boiling water, cover with a lid and insist for 20 minutes, the filter bags are squeezed out, the volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 100 ml with boiled water.

    Infusion is taken orally 30 minutes before meals for 7-10 days:

    children under 3 years - 1 teaspoonful 2 times a day;

    children from 3 to 6 years - 1 teaspoonful 3 times a day;

    children from 6 to 12 years - 2 teaspoons 3 times a day;

    children over 12 years and adults - 1 tablespoon 2-3 times a day.

    Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.
    Side effects:Allergic reactions are possible, in rare cases - heartburn.
    Overdose:Cases of overdose have not been registered to date.
    Interaction:

    The use of the drug is not recommended with other antitussive drugs containing codeine, t. this makes it difficult for the diluted sputum to escape.

    Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:The drug has no effect on the ability to perform potentially hazardous activities requiring increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (including driving, working with moving mechanisms).
    Form release / dosage:Leaves powder, 1.5 g.
    Packaging:Leaves powder of 1.5 g (at a humidity of 14%) in the filter bags, followed by stacking 10 or 20 filter bags and instructions for use in packs of cardboard.
    Storage conditions:In a dry place protected from light.
    Ready to keep the infusion in a cool place for no more than 2 days.
    Keep out of the reach of children.
    Shelf life:3 years.
    Do not use after the expiration date.
