Chamomile flowers contain essential oil, flavonoids and other biologically active substances.
Description:

Whole or partially crumbling flower baskets are hemispherical or conical in shape, without peduncles or with remnants of them no longer than 3 cm. The basket consists of marginal false-tongued pistillate and median bisexual tubular flowers. The receptacle is naked, small-cavity, hollow, at the beginning of flowering hemispherical, towards the end - conical. The wrapper of the basket is cristiform, multi-rowed, consisting of numerous elongated, with blunt tips and wide filmy edges of leaflets. The size of the basket (without false-tongued flowers) is 4-8 mm across. The color of false-lingual flowers is white, the tubular is yellow, the wrappings are yellow, yellowish-green. The smell is strong, fragrant. The taste of water extract is spicy, bitter, slightly slimy.

  • Pharmacodynamics:

    Infusion of chamomile flowers has anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and moderate antimicrobial effect, reduces the processes of fermentation in the intestine, increases the secretion of digestive glands.

    Indications:

    Infusion of chamomile flowers is used internally in complex therapy for chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, chronic enteritis, chronic colitis, flatulence, intestinal spasms, diarrhea.

    The local rinse is used for infectious and inflammatory diseases of the ENT organs and the oral cavity (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, stomatitis, gingivitis).

    In the form of microclystia is used for spastic colitis, hemorrhoids.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

    Pregnancy and lactation:The use of the inside is possible after agreement with the attending physician.
    Dosing and Administration:

    About 8-10 grams (3-4 tablespoons) of flowers are placed in enameled dishes, poured into 200 ml (1 glass) of cooled boiled water, covered with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, then cooled at room temperature for 45 minutes, filtered, the remaining raw material is squeezed. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.

    Infusion takes inwards 2-3 times a day: adults and children over 12 years - 2-3 tablespoons; children from 7 to 12 years - 1-2 tablespoons; children from 3 to 6 years - 1 tablespoon; children under 3 years old - 1 teaspoonful.

    For rinsing the mouth and throat apply to 1/2-1 glass is infused 3-5 times a day in a warm form.

    In the form of an enema Introduce into the rectum 50 ml of warm infusion.

    Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.
