Glucocorticosteroids

Tetracyclines

Included in the formulation
  • Polcortolon TS
    aerosol externally
  • АТХ:

D.07.C.B.01   Triamcinolone in combination with antibiotics

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Pharmacological action - antimicrobial, antipruritic, anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory.

Triamcinolone acetonide is a synthetic glucocorticosteroid, a fluorine derivative of prednisolone, which has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, antiexudative and antiallergic effects.

Tetracycline hydrochloride is a broad-spectrum antibiotic. Has a bacteriostatic effect due to the suppression of protein synthesis by microorganisms.

    Pharmacokinetics:

Tetracycline when applied externally has a local effect and practically does not enter the systemic circulation.

Triamcinolone may be slightly absorbed into the systemic circulation during external application. Inflammatory process and skin diseases accelerate the absorption of the drug. Triamcinolone is metabolized in the liver, excreted by the kidneys.

    Indications:

Allergic skin diseases complicated by a secondary bacterial infection (hives, atopic dermatitis, eczema).

Skin diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to tetracycline, as well as mixed infections (impetigo, furunculosis, folliculitis, hydradenitis, erysipelas, etc.).

XII.L00-L08   Infections of the skin and subcutaneous tissue

    I.A30-A49.A46   Erys

    XII.L00-L08.L01   Impetigo

XII.L00-L08.L02   Abscess of skin, boil and carbuncle

    XII.L20-L30.L30.9   Dermatitis, unspecified

    XII.L20-L30.L20   Atopic dermatitis

    XII.L50-L54.L50.0   Allergic urticaria

    XII.L60-L75.L73.2   Hyperadenitis purulent

    Contraindications:
    • Viral, fungal infections of the skin.
    • Lupus.
    • Period of vaccination.
    • Tumors and precancerous skin conditions.
    • Syphilis (skin manifestations).
    • Chickenpox.
    • Violation of the integrity of the skin in places where the drug is applied.
    • Children under 3 years.
    • Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
    Carefully:

    Glaucoma.

Atrophic skin changes, especially in elderly patients.
    Pregnancy and lactation:

Can not be used in the first trimester of pregnancy. Application at later terms of pregnancy is possible only if the intended benefit exceeds the possible risk of complications.

It is unknown to what extent triamcinolone acetonide for external use is excreted in breast milk. After the use of corticosteroids, breast milk did not contain a significant amount of hormones that could affect the baby.

Tetracyclines penetrate the breast milk and can adversely affect the development of the baby's bones and teeth, as well as cause photosensitivity reactions, candidiasis of the oral cavity and vagina in infants.

At the time of treatment, it is strongly recommended that you stop breastfeeding.

    Dosing and Administration:

Outwardly. Shake the bottle before use. Affected areas are sprayed with a spray of aerosol for 3 seconds, keeping the bottle in a vertical position at a distance of about 15-20 cm from the surface of the skin.

Adults undergo the procedure 2-4 times a day at regular intervals. Duration of treatment is determined individually and on average is 5-10 days. If the disease persists, the course of treatment can be extended to 25 days. Not recommended for more than 4 weeks.

For children over the age of 3, the drug is prescribed for a short period of time, only once a day and sprayed on small areas of the skin surface.

    Side effects:

For short-term use and when applied to small areas of the skin surface, the drug does not cause significant side effects.

    Probably: itching, skin irritation, purpura.

Rarely (with prolonged use and with the use of occlusive dressings): development of secondary infectious lesions, acne, post-steroid vascular purpura, suppression of epidermal growth, dry skin, increased hair growth, pigmentation, skin atrophy, telangiectasia; photosensitization.

With prolonged use of glucocorticosteroids in large areas of the skin, the incidence of side effects in the form of peripheral edema, arterial hypertension, hyperglycemia, and immunosuppressive effect increases.

In case of skin irritation or other side effects, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor.

    Overdose:

Overdose with external application is very rare. However, there may be symptoms of overdose with incorrect or prolonged use of the drug in large areas of the skin, manifested in side effects,Characteristic for the systemic use of glucocorticosteroid drugs with oppression of the pituitary-adrenal function.

    Interaction:

    Not installed.

    Special instructions:

Avoid prolonged use of the drug.

With special care apply on the face skin, as the absorption of the drug increases and the possibility of side effects (telangiectasia, skin atrophy, perioral dermatitis) even after a short-term use is increased.

Long-term use of tetracycline, which is part of the drug, may contribute to an increase in the number of resistant strains of staphylococci, and Candida albicans. In this case, appropriate treatment should be prescribed.

During treatment with glucocorticosteroids, vaccination and immunization should not be carried out.

Included in the preparation tetracycline can cause photosensitization, therefore, care should be taken to protect skin areas with aerosol applied from direct sunlight.

Protect eyes when spraying aerosol; Do not inhale the sprayed product. It is necessary to ensure that the product does not get into the eyes, as this can cause glaucoma. In case of accidental ingestion of the drug into the eyes, they must be rinsed thoroughly with warm water.

Do not use in children under 3 years. The use of the drug in children should be limited, as long-term use and high doses of corticosteroids can affect the growth and development of the child.
