Characteristic
Bearberry leaves contain arbutin, cleaved in the organism to form hydroquinone metilarbutin, tannins, organic acids, flavonoids and other biologically active substances.
Description:

The leaf pieces of different shape from light green to dark green with a brownish-green, light brown and brown patches of passing through a sieve of 3 mm.

The smell is absent. The taste of water extract is strongly astringent, bitterish.

  • Pharmacodynamics:

    Infusion of bearberry leaves has anti-inflammatory, diuretic and antiseptic effect.

    Indications:

    In the complex therapy of inflammatory diseases of the urinary bladder and urinary tract (cystitis, urethritis).

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the drug.

    Acute renal failure, acute glomerulonephritis, pregnancy, children under 12 years.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    Application in the period of breastfeeding is possible,if the expected benefit for the mother exceeds the potential risk to the child; it is necessary to consult a doctor.

    Dosing and Administration:

    9 g (1 tablespoon) is placed in a glass or enamel ware, pour 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and insist on a boiling water bath for 30 minutes, filter, without cooling, the remaining raw material is squeezed; the volume of the resulting broth is brought to 200 ml with boiled water.

    Take inside in a warm form for 1 tablespoon 3-5 times a day 40 minutes after eating; the course of treatment is 20-25 days; it is possible to repeat the course after a 10-12-day break, but not more than 4 courses a year; It is recommended to stir the broth before use.

    Side effects:

    Allergic reactions are possible; nausea, vomiting, diarrhea; staining the urine in a dark green color.

    With prolonged use and in doses exceeding the recommended levels, there may be an exacerbation of inflammatory diseases of the kidneys as a result of prolonged irritation of the renal tubules.
