Composition:

Enzyme hydrolyzate of the brain of cattle, containing amino acids and biologically active peptides with the addition of phenol.

Description:

Transparent, yellowish liquid with a specific odor. A slight smell of phenol is permissible.

    • Pharmacodynamics:

    Cerebrolysate is a preparation of the brain tissue, contains amino acids and biologically active peptides that penetrate the blood-brain barrier and directly enter the nerve cells. Cerebrolysate improves metabolic processes in the brain cells, activates the synthesis of proteins in neurons, increases the resistance of brain tissue to intoxication, hypoxia, hypoglycemia; improves the state of regulatory mechanisms and bioelectrical activity of the brain, increases the reserve compensatory possibilities of cerebral hemodynamics. All this leads to a decrease in the severity of the neurological deficit.

    Indications:

    In the complex therapy of cerebrovascular insufficiency (dyscirculatory encephalopathy, ischemic stroke (acute phase and rehabilitation stage), condition after hemorrhagic stroke,traumatic brain injury (brain concussion, craniocerebral trauma, condition after surgical intervention on the brain), encephalopathy of various genesis, myelopathy, neuropathy, radiculopathy of various genesis (infectious, toxic, traumatic), infantile cerebral palsy, decreased concentration in children.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity, expressed violations of kidney function, status epilepticus, pregnancy.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Intramuscularly administered 1-5 ml daily or every other day. The course of treatment is 20 injections.

    After a 3-6 month break, treatment with cerebrolysates can be repeated (after consulting a doctor).

    In neuropediatric practice: intramuscularly, 1-2 ml (up to 1 ml per 10 kg body weight) for 10-15 days, with a repetition of the course 2-3 times a year.

    Side effects:

    Injections of the drug in some cases cause local soreness, irritation, flushing.

    Possible allergic reactions, increased blood pressure (with concomitant arterial hypertension).

    Overdose:At present, no cases of drug overdose have been reported.
    Interaction:

    Simultaneous use of cerebrolysate with antidepressants can cause an increase in their effect.

    Special instructions:

    With caution should prescribe the drug for allergic diathesis, epilepsy.
