    D.01.A.E.54   Undecylenic acid in combination with other drugs

    Pharmacodynamics:

    It has a fungistatic effect. Is active against dermatophytes: Epidermohpyton, Trichophyton and Microsporum. When combined with zinc or copper salts (zinc undecylenate, copper undecylenate), the activity of undecylenic acid rises.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    Not studied.

    Indications:

    Treatment and prevention of fungal diseases of the skin, fungal lesions of feet.

    Hypersensitivity, age to 3 years.

    Carefully:

    Children and the elderly, liver and kidney disease, pregnancy and lactation.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    The category of recommendations for the FDA is not defined.

    Adequate and well-controlled studies in humans and animals have not been conducted. There is no information on the penetration into breast milk. Use with caution.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Outwardly. Apply to the affected area 2 times a day, after the disappearance of clinical signs - 1 time per day every other day; for prophylaxis - 2 times a week.

    Side effects:

    Allergic reactions: rarely.

    Special instructions:

    With extensive skin lesions, especially with acute dyshidrotic form or eczematous epidermophyte (to avoid exacerbation), use with caution. In case of interruption of the course, relapse may develop.
