Currently, the drug is used according to indications - dissolution of gallstones cholesterol stones, biliary reflux-gastritis, primary biliary cirrhosis in the absence of signs of decompensation, chronic hepatitis of various genesis, primary sclerosing cholangitis, cystic fibrosis (as part of complex therapy), non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, alcoholic illness liver, biliary dyskinesia.

Contraindications for the use of the drug are X-ray positive (high calcium content) gallstones, impaired contractility of the gallbladder and bile ducts, occlusion of the biliary tract, frequent episodes of biliary colic, hypersensitivity to the components of the drug or other bile acids, children under 3 years (for solid dosage forms), cirrhosis of the liver in the stage of decompensation, and marked hepatic and renal insufficiency. In the pediatric population, contraindications are unsuccessfully performed portoenterostomy or cases of a lack of restoration of normal outflow of bile in children with atresia of the biliary tract.
