Composition:

For the preparation use:

Valerian rootstocks with roots 200 g

Ethanol (ethyl alcohol) 70% - a sufficient amount to obtain 1 liter of the drug.

Description:

Transparent liquid of red-brown color, characteristic aromatic odor.

Pharmacodynamics:

Valerian tincture has a moderate sedative effect. The active principle of the preparation is borneol ester and isovaleric acid, free valeric acid.

Sedation is slow, but fairly stable. Facilitates the onset of natural sleep.

In addition, the drug has an antispasmodic effect on the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract. It also has a cholagogue effect, increases the secretion of the glands of the digestive tract.

Indications:

Increased nervous excitability, insomnia, as part of complex therapy - functional disorders of the cardiovascular system, spasms of the organs of the gastrointestinal tract.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, pregnancy, lactation, children under 1 year.

Carefully:

Chronic enterocolitis, liver disease, alcoholism, craniocerebral trauma, brain disease, children age from 1 year.

Dosing and Administration:

Inside, before meals: adults - 20-30 drops, diluted in a small amount of water 3-4 times a day; children - 1 drop per year of life. The course of treatment is 1 month.

Side effects:

Possible drowsiness, weakness, decreased performance, with prolonged use - constipation.

In some cases, the development of allergic reactions is possible.

Overdose:

When using the drug in doses exceeding the recommended dose, it is possible to increase dose-related side effects.

Treatment: symptomatic.

Interaction:

The drug enhances the effect of hypnotics, sedatives and spasmolytic drugs.

Special instructions:

The absolute alcohol content in the maximum single dose for adults is 0.32 g, for children (1 cap) - 0.01 g; in daily for adults - 1.3 g.

During the period of treatment, care must be taken when driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially hazardous activities requiring increased attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.

Packaging:

To 25 ml in bottles of orange glass with a screw mouth or bottles of a dropper of orange glass.

Each bottle or bottle-dropper is placed in a pack of cardboard.
